Scalia to speak on religion clauses in Constitution (http://www.detnews.com/2005/schools/0501/08/schools-53902.htm) U.S. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia will return to Michigan on Jan. 25 to speak in a lecture series sponsored by the Ave Maria School of Law.

The conservative justice plans to discuss the religion clauses of the U.S. Constitution, the Catholic school said Friday. The lecture will be held on the campus of the University of Michigan.

I'm not sure why Ave Maria, pizza magnate Thomas Monaghan's attempt to build up a theocratic legal force, is sponsoring something on the campus of the University of Michigan. From here (http://www.reachm.com/amstreet/archives/2004/10/25/fourth-monday-in-october/) One of Scalia’s duties will be lecturing (and propping up) Michigan’s branch of the Federalist Society, a rightward leaning group of young legal scholars who have come to dominate recent Republican and other appointments to the judiciary and other places (federalism, you see, being a “flexible concept, meaning “that which benefits Republican politicians and their contributors, at least according to the newly annotated Federalist Papers).

Can anyone attend and report?
