Well,
I’ve been outed! :D
My wife broke it to my Pastor’s Wife that I am an agnostic.
My Pastor (former) is a good man, but up until now only my Wife and you good people know about my agnosis, well some of you. It is a freeing feeling... Now I will have to deal with all the questions and couples coming to the door to seek my repentance.
I guess what floored them more than anything else is that my Wife is cool with my agnosis.

 Don't know what kind of church you're involved with, but watch out. They may now try to talk to your wife about this and drive a wedge between the two of you. "Unequally yoked" (2 Corinthians 6:14 ) and all that crap. Hope not, but just be aware.

If that tactic ever worked to end a marriage, I'd bet it was on the rocks already.

And if they do, you read 1 Corinthians 7:12-16 (http://bible.oremus.org/?passage=1+Cor+7%3A12-16&vnum=yes&version=nrsv) to them.

It is cool that they accepted your worldview without knee-jerking. Hopefully they can continue to accept you without making your life miserable with evangelistic efforts. Certainly your wife's attitude probably has a lot to do with it.

If they become a problem tell us how they seek your repentance and we'll help keep them floored.

Oh, we were fundamentalist/evangelical but my pastor (former) is not a rigid hell fire type... Nevertheless, I'm sure it is not welcome news to them.
My Wife has had her fill with Christianity but still considers herself a Christian, albeit with a more liberal slant. She's tough, and I don't think they will be able to drive a wedge, even if they wanted to, which I don't think they would want to.
We’ll be going out to dinner with them this Friday so I'll know more about their reaction after that. I'll probably be asked a few questions as to why, by my pastor, but he should be able to put two and two together as I've put out all kind's of signals over the years that something wasn't "right," you know... hard to answer questions, seeing less and less of me, depression and angst because of the questions, etc.
