I don't believe in Christianity whatsoever, but let's say the Christian God exists and is everything Christians make him out to be. Why, when he created the world, would he be so cruel as to put out evidence for his nonexistence? Doe he enjoy sending people to hell everyday? Why would he create little beings in his own image just so he could be worshipped?

However you care to look at it, the biblical explanations just don't make sense.
The creation stories don't agree with what we know about the world. It's God appears to be psychologically insecure to even require worship - throws temper tantrums whenever things don't go His way.
Not a pretty picture.

Welcome to IIDB i!i!

You'll be pleased to know that you're not the only one who feels this way.

The bible is merely a collection of surviving superstitions shared by pre-technology nomadic herdsmen. Like many god-myths this particular religion involved blood sacrifices to their god. It wouldn't surprise me to discover that the roots of worshipping Yahweh even involved human sacrifice, as several surviving passages in the bible seem to indicate (Gen 22, Exodus 22:29, Numbers 31:25-29, Judges 11:29-40, II Sam 21, I Kings 13:2, II Kings 23:20).

It is understandable that as humans evolved and became more civilized that the primitive, bloodthirsty god(s) they worshipped had to adapt or be cast aside. Active priesthoods polished Yahweh's image and over time Yahweh managed to evolve from a bloodthirsty "Man of War" (Exodus 15:3) to the more noble god pictured in the New Testament.

Even then the concept is not well thought out, as a truly noble god would not punish "his" children with eternal punishment for temporary offenses. Most human beings realize that chopping off a person's hands so they can't steal again is hideously unjust. But the "hell" myth makes that sort of injustice seem quite tame.

And as you implied in your post, the very idea of a god vast enough to create the entire universe, yet petty enough to get angry at us puny humans for even the tiniest offenses is one of the most ridiculous concepts in the Judaeo-christian traditions.
