From the link:
He [The pope] also said that the poorer parts of the world have something important to teach the wealthier West about faith. People in Asia and Africa, he said, admire the scientific and technical progress of the West, but at the same time they are frightened by a form of rationality prevalent in the West that totally excludes God from man's vision.
Might that frightening rationality have something to do with the fact that the west is wealthier?

Or is it the other way around Haener?
Perhaps the fact that the west is wealther has something to do with the 'frightening' rationality within its heart since 'the Enlightenment'.

No problem my 'nederlandophonic' (?? ??) amigo. It's just that I suspect that Pope Benny the Rat claims the former to be the case rather than the latter.
Lowly Idiot

The pope said that the tolerance that the world urgently needs includes the fear of God and respect for what others hold sacred.
No it bloody well doesn't.
Why doesn't he just go one step further and move to a cave in Afganistan with his funny hat wearing brethren?

Talking of his homophobic wimmin-hating brethren who wear equally funny hats, the Anglican Archbishop of York (an african import) has just joined in by claiming that: The Archbishop of York has said British Christians should see Muslims as allies in the struggle against secularism.
In a speech at York Minster, Dr John Sentamu said British Muslims were not offended by Christianity and preferred it to a secular state. BBC report of it here (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/england/north_yorkshire/5343940.stm).
More:He also said Britain had been damaged by the downgrading of religion and urged political parties to adopt Christian values.

Tough. They'll have to make do with Britain. Although...

Yeah, like those of Tony Blair: bombing innocents, lying, victimisation of minorities, breaking international law. Did I miss anything?
