I was wondering if the Second Coming/Ressurection could have been an attempt by Paul to gain more followers and perhaps the ones who fled after the Crucifixion? (I might be mistaken about the fleeing part, oh well)

Are you assuming that his other teachings had nothing to do with trying to gain more followers? Why?
I assume that everything he said, he said because he really believed it and really thought other people should believe it, too, for their own good.
And by the way, Paul did not teach a Second Coming. He taught that the Christ would come, but he never said it would be for the second time.

Since Jesus himself mentioned his 2nd Coming in at least one place (John 14:1-4) and historically Jesus is placed before Paul then Paul was merely passing on what he knew, not saying something new.

The gospels were placed historically before Paul, but they were written after he wrote.
