He was Arabic.

What Jesus looked like has long been debated by theologians around the world. Different cultures have imagined him in different ways, says Stephen Prothero, chairman of the religion department at Boston University. In Japan, Jesus looks Japanese. In Africa, he is black. But in America he is almost always white, like the fair-haired savior painted by Leonardo Da Vinci in "The Last Supper" in 1495.

Why is there even a debate? Saying Jesus was black is as much of a lie as saying he was white! The fact is, there is no serious debate. We already kbow what Arabs looked like 0 AD- the same way they look now!

This guy is a piece of work.

"The message is that color, a colored Jesus Christ, doesn't matter," he says. "That's why the movie is important. When you have one prevailing image out there, it suggests color does matter."

I should make a movie where Rocky Balboa is Chinese. After all, it's the idea that color doesn't matter. Never mind what's true!

Well, this is pretty moot because I personally think there is no reason to believe JC was even a real historical person...but...

I think it's pretty note worthy that the particular area where this alleged man was to have lived was a veritable melting pot of different ethnicities. Many historians believe that immigrants were likely to have travelled in to the area from every direction. There could have been Greeks, Iranians, Indians, Africans, Romans, all in the same area at the same time.

So if this person did exist -and like I said, I see no reason to suppose he did- there's really no way of knowing.

He would most likely have had dark hair, a fairly dark complexion, dark eyes etc.

Is that "black"? Who knows? Who cares? If you are a believer in JC and his race actually matters to you...then you're a dink. :D :D :D

perhaps we're all right, we should have a council to make that our official stance. just in case any heretics think he... (or maybe she?) is mostly pink, or mostly invisible.
