The study said the controversial Left-wing doctrine had ignored the dangers of 'religious fundamentalism' and should be scrapped.
Communities should instead be actively encouraged to mix.
The report, written by a team from University of Leicester, said this should be backed by a new concept of 'Britishness'.
It would be based upon respect for the Monarchy, loyalty to the elected Government, and respect and adherence to the law.@ 13%
This study was picked by the right wing Daily Mail, as it obeys one of their favourite conservative fallacies; that as far as cultural models go, there is only two ways - 'Left' Multiculturalism and 'Right' Nationalism.
15/21 IIDB members approved a Multipersonalist middle way. (http://www.iidb.org/vbb/showthread.php?t=183843)
To this day, the Daily Mail remains an organ of thinly veiled cultural and arguably racial fascism. It has a near - 50% share of the market, where I live.

This bit is rather crude:

It would be based upon respect for the Monarchy, loyalty to the elected Government, and respect and adherence to the law.
Ahem.... As a Socialist in the French Revolutionary tradition is it likely that I'm going to respect the monarchy? I think not. What the hell has so-called "Britishness" and especially the monarchy got to do with anything anyway? What we ought to be teaching and promoting is that poeple are human first and foremost not some watered down version of nationalistic bullshit or respect for fundamentalist beliefs in the guise of political correctness.
Respect for the law? Tell you what, I'll respect so-called "British" law when the government respects the rights of the citizens and respects international law instead of involving us in a war we had no right to prosecute in the first place and then tearing down protection of our human rights under the guise of protecting security. I'll start respecting the government when ministers stop whining that human rights legislation is "preventing" the prosecution of the terrorist or other criminal elements in society.
