A woman whose summer camp for children near Devil's Lake, ND,...was vandalized after the release of the movie about her Kids on Fire camp. She says the camp's church was vandalized as well.

What gets me about the article is that the camp is near...DEVIL'S LAKE!!

Not to know is bad. Not to want to know is worse.

Why didn't anyone tell me about this? I would have participated! :)

The only news outlet (and I'm using that term loosely here) that is reporting this is Christian World News. Clearly the Mainstream Media is covering it up because they hate Jesus.

If the vandalism was at all nasty or bad, the biased 'news' source would surely have detailed at least some of it. I do wonder what it entailed.

EDIT: There are other articles out there to include this other christian-oriented one (but the story is by the AP):

Attention Prompts 'Jesus Camp' to Leave Devil's Lake (http://www.christianpost.com/article/20061028/25629.htm)
The camp's windows were broken and it had about $1,500 worth of damage. Police figure the church was vandalized the same night, said the Rev. Winston Titus, the camp administrator.

Critics have accused Fischer of brainwashing. She has said she wants to encourage young people to be committed Christians.

The big question IS : could this act of vandalism be an internally sponsored crime purposefully committed for publicity to bolster support against the evil elements of society that are suppressing Christian education?

Now that's just overthinking it. Some Christians may have a persecution complex, but it's much more plausible that someone actually did vandalize and this was just exaggerated. Why would this be carefully planned out and executed, only to be publicized on one Christian media outlet?

{...} only to be publicized on one Christian media outlet?Again, there are many instances of this story out there, not just the one posted in the OP. Further, one of the sources is the Associated Press. Just FYI.

Now that's just overthinking it.Nope! Without knowing the specifics of the evidence, I'm just exploring viable possibilities. As a detective this question would be on my "short list" of angles to explore. Some Christians may have a persecution complex, but it's much more plausible that someone actually did vandalize and this was just exaggerated. It is possible that this was a random (or premeditated) act of vandalism committed by whoever (drunken atheist teenagers just being mean, or a disgruntled student from the camp, etc). Why would this be carefully planned out and executed, only to be publicized on one Christian media outlet?HaHaHa.... Let's see... A new movie to promote a controversial youth camp promoting "Christian" teachings?????
An crime vilifying the evil adversaries? Media publicity (even if only within Christian outlets still mean increased awareness of the movie, the camp, and the hostilities perpetrated against the Christian path? Money and publicity? Publicity and money? etc...etc...etc... Oh, I see AP has just picked up on this story.

The evidence would have to eliminate any of these possibilities. That is what detective work is all about; eliminate the possibilities by following all of the leads.

Who has the most to gain by this act of vandalism? Drunken atheist youths getting a nut from breaking windows? Personal satisfaction from a disgruntled student?...etc... Or, millions of dollars in sales from the international publicity and promoting the Christian "cause"?

The tale of the tape will be if this crime is ever solved (though not conclusive). Drunken kids and disgruntled students usually leave evidence trails because they TALK about it. Premeditated acts for the purpose of profit are usually well hidden.
