I know someone who recently switched churches over this -- he's an openly gay pastor, and he moved to a denomination that would allow this. He got glowing reccommendations from his bishop and all, and they clearly felt that his need to leave reflected badly on their current policies.

Black gays have been the dirty little secret in the traditional "black church" for years, and in my experience black gay Christians are less likely than white gay Christians to belong to more tolerant congregations. Its great to see more people take a stand and discuss the issue openly

I find it sad that the gender of the person you are attracted to causes to you to leave a job.

Religion... The root of all evil!

I actually agree with this. Having a homosexual preacher is like having an unrepentent adulterer or thief as a preacher. Not that homosexuality is wrong in the slightest in my opinion. But in Christianity, it's a terrible sin and Christians who don't think it is are untrue to their faith.

And yet, time after time, hyper religious preachers are caught with their dick in places were the congregation don't want it to be found.

It's not like this is an isolated case, it happens on a regular basis.

And I think it is safe to say that the most intolerant and hypocritical people are religious and in particular Christians.

Personally, I don't care who you sleep with, how many you sleep with nor what gender the person has.

Uh, I agree totally. How does tat have any bearing on what I said? I simply said that gay preachers shouldn't be accepted by Christians who follow their beliefs at all.
