Most of the attendees were Christians.

Here are a couple of comments on it:

Revolution Conference: Why I Don’t Go to Church Anymore - Christine Wicker & Helen Mildenhall (http://www.radicalcongruency.com/20061103-revolution-conference-why-i-dont-go-to-church-anymore-christine-wicker-helen-mildenhall) (I'm in the middle in the photo)

Off The Map equal with atheists (http://revolutionconference.com/blog/off-the-map-equal-with-atheists/11/)

When I said I found more grace among atheists I was thinking of IIDB even though one of these blog entries says 'atheist blogs'.

Why did you go? Do you think Christianity can be reformed by reason? Have you been reading Bishop Jack Spong's books?

I went because I was hoping to help Christians understand atheists better. I've read Spong's book "A new Christianity for a new world" and I really like it.

As well as the interview, I gave a talk in a workshop earlier in the day. I just posted a detailed summary of my talk here:

Almost an atheist (http://conversationattheedge.com/2006/11/07/almost-an-atheist/)

Do I think Christianity can be reformed by reason? I don't know; which is why my talk included stories and personal experiences rather than being a dry list of objections to the faith. I wanted to connect with people on any level I could.

Great job, Helen!

I still have to finish reading all of the material, but I get a wonderful sense of what you hope to accomplish through this activism.

My view is that over time such efforts may not "reform Christianity through reason", however (and more importantly) it may reform people who have certain religious presuppositions...by using the tools of reason and direct example.

Thanks Steve!

Yeah, it's pretty long. It was about a 30 min talk!
