BoE results for Ohio (http://www.sos.state.oh.us/results/DistrictDetail.aspx?race=SB)

District 7
Sawyer, Thomas C. 6,095 51.49%
Fink, Deborah Owens 3,290 27.79%
Kovacs, David 1,661 14.03%
Jones, John T. 791 6.68%

Looking good so far: Fink is one of the people pro-science people want to go down -- big time.

No results in G.R. "Sam" Schloemer's race.

District 4
Schloemer, G.R. 3,898 50.16%
Hritz, John 3,873 49.84%

Schloemer is the pro-science guy. Way too close to call.

District 7
Sawyer, Thomas C. 57,962 59.02%
Fink, Deborah Owens 25,922 26.40%
Kovacs, David 9,414 9.59%
Jones, John T. 4,902 4.99%

Unless only precincts favorable to Sawyer have reported, then Fink is going down. She is the person largely responsible for anti-evolutionary nonsense in the BOE.

That is sooooo sweet to see! I'm one of those she characterized as "arrogant paranoid scientists" at a Board of Ed meeting. I give those results a hearty Woo Hoo!

RBH, were you part of the discussion with Fink I heard on WCPN Recently?

Fink couldn't get off of the topic of evolution vs, ID even when the host tried to move on to other aspects of science education. I think she really hurt herself with everyone but evangelicals during that broadcast.

Nope, I wasn't in on that -- I listened to it, though. Does that count? :)

Well since you've been pretty active concerning board issues, close enough.

Considering I was sleeping late that day and couldn't even call in, I'm in no position to deny you accolades.

Awesome. Ever since listening to that recent debate between Owens-Fink, Sawyer and Kenneth Millers, I've been hoping she'd go down. This is good news.

Looking over the numbers, I think it is very safe now to call Fink as gone, gone, gone. :)

District 4
Schloemer, G.R. 87,200 66.37%
Hritz, John 44,186 33.63%

Looking at how many precincts have reported, this one is nearly mathematically locked. So another win.

Yup, Sawyer and Sam are good. And interestingly, Jim Craig is losing. He's voted on both sides of the ID issue, and through trying to play the middle and find compromises wound up pissing everyone off at one time or another.

I should say that Deborah Cain, who is defeating Jim Craig, is a pick up for the strong science side. She was endorsed by Ohio Hope (http://www.ohiohope.org/). Candidates endorsed by Ohio Hope won four of the five Board of Education seats up for election. That's not a bad record.

It should be noted that you won the governorship.

It should be noted that you won the governorship.Who appoints 8 Members at Large of the board (though Taft will fill some positions before he leaves office).

And Democrats took the Secretary of State, which means a majority on the next reapportionment board.
