Ethelyne Glycol (car antifreeze) being substituted for glycerin in base ingredients for food and medicine by China has killed hundreds, perhaps thousands of people all over the world.

No, it's diethylene glycol. Equally poison, but tastes better. And oddly enough, this same substitution is the reason the US has a Food and Drug Administration: about 100 people died here in 1937 from, I presume, greedy money-grubbing bastards like the current ones in China.
