MAY 2007 Thread of the Month - go ahead and VOTE!

Hi everyone!

As you know, part of our new improved discussion here in PEST, we're instituting a "Thread of the Month" competition. Winners will be linked to in a sticky for all to look upon in wonder and awe, at the shining example of discussion we can provide.

This is how it works, and it's really very simple. If you want to take part, you have 72 hours from now to vote for the worthiest, most intelligent thread. You may vote for any PEST thread that has been started since the opening of the fora. You may vote ONCE, so think hard. Multiple votes will see your first choice being counted and your remaining choices ignored to make it easier for yours truly, who gets to count it.

Ready? Then have at it, and in 72 hours we'll close this thread and tally it up for the inaugural winner!

I'm hesitant to second the nomination made by DougP because the entire thread seemed to end up being pointless. However, the discussion that was had was lively and only partially marred by poor reasoning. I guess i'm with DougP then.

I liked the Harvard thread, it provoked several searchs and turned up some food for thought.

Personally, I think the the Mods should narrow it down to 5-6 threads and set up a poll. Easier that way?

^I was against that idea as it seemed to limit freedom to choose amongst the users, but maybe we'll try that next month and just remember to put in an "Other" category. It might get more people voting.

I'll go ahead and put both in. Thanks for voting, all that did! I admit, I had hoped for more responses, but we'll try the poll idea next month and see if that sparks more votes.

Congratulations to all those who posted in the above two threads, and especially to Hooboy!! and Nitrousoxide, who started them. Will go ahead and lock this thread now, as it has passed its use-by date.
