If it is true (which I doubt at the moment) then we are all going electric soon.
I heard before that Fuji was not happy with durability of NiMH and opted for Lithium&manganese for their hybrids, but this is the whole different story, who needs hybrid when it is 20x increase in the capacity.
I just hope they meant the capacity not just "power".

I looked a bit more, and it seems they really meant just "power" :(
I suspected in the beginning that 20x capacity increase is not physically possible.
Now it seems that Lithium&manganese is known for its durability and power (they can last for up to a 20 years), this is why Fuji was working on them.
Anyway, it will make hybrid cars cheaper, more efficient and more durable.
BTW: Toyota was working with Fuji, now I understand why Toyota were saying that they are planning significantly reduce manufacturing costs of their next version of their hybrids.

I heard that what they were really speaking of was 20x recharging tolerance, which is a wholly different matter. "20x the energy storage capacity" (you don't store power) is supposed to be a mistranslation of a Japanese article. I can't confirm this, though.
