Pennridge, PA schools to review flyer policy (http://www.philly.com/mld/inquirer/news/local/6466293.htm)
Baker lives with his parents in Perkasie but makes his living on the lecture circuit, speaking to other young people about creationism and other Christian topics.
He also runs a program he calls the SWAT Team, or the Student Warrior Adventure Training Team. Participants perform adventurous acts like climbing mountains while learning "to develop a vision for their own high school, not necessarily fighting evolution battles, but other battles," he said.

Uggh. As if I needed any more proof that the Religious Right "culture warriors" are morally reprehensible, lacking in ethical standards, hypocritical, and just plain uncivil.
If the board members leave the policy as it is, "I hope they get sued again," Baker, 21, said.
Failure to love neighbor as self; vindictiveness.
Baker wanted a packed meeting because a CNN crew was going to report a story about him, he said yesterday.
Sin of pride.
School officials did not yet have an estimate for legal fees, but Baker said his attorney's fees were more than $40,000.
For having made a single phone call? Bearing false witness; avarice.
He also runs a program he calls the SWAT Team, or the Student Warrior Adventure Training Team. Participants perform adventurous acts like climbing mountains while learning "to develop a vision for their own high school, not necessarily fighting evolution battles, but other battles," he said.
Must everything be war for these people?

How To Witness Using Creation Science Sat. 11:00-12:-00
You’ve acquired all kinds of knowledge through your science studies. What good is it? You can use the knowledge you’ve gained to win atheists, intellectuals, and other non-believers to Christ! The message of the gospel is well-documented through scientific study! Use what you learn! (Appropriate for teens and parents)
rofl. Yes, certainly you'll win intellectuals over to Christ by using creation "science" arguments. I would love to meet this guy...
~Top 10 Questions Atheists Ask - a Q and A session (Sat. 2:30-3:30 What are the ten most-frequently asked questions posed by atheists and intellectuals ask concerning God? How would you like to have a ready answer for those who ask? This workshop will equip you to use your education to answer difficult questions. The second half of the workshop will be an open Q&A time where you can ask Joe any question concerning God - perhaps a question someone has posed to you - and he will show you how to respond. Appropriate for teens and parents)
Ugh, this should be re-titled "brainwashing the masses to parrot scripted responses to valid questions from skeptics." Do they really think this convinces anyone?

I argue that whoever is writing the biology textbooks is misrepresenting the nature of science.
Yes, of course. It's the scientists who are misrepresenting science, not the cwazy Cwistians.

See, if the polar ice caps
were to ever completely melt the continents would decrease by about 20%.
This would drastically change the shape of our continents and would probably
convert all them guys who still believe in Pangea theory but it would not
cover Mt. Everest.
If we sank every mountain into the trenches in the ocean and smoothed out
the whole globe the world would be covered by about 2 miles of water.
God's
flood did not have to cover the great mountains because the huge mountains
arose after the flood and the mid-oceanic trenches sank down allowing the
water to quickly erode the globe.

Psalm 11:3 declares that 'If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?'
-The book of Genesis is foundational to the rest of the Bible. We Christians need to learn how to defend the foundation of our belief, for the humanists are so carefully working to wash out that very foundation. Notice that the schools and public institutions are not publicly attacking the death, resurrection, or virgin birth of Jesus Christ but are teaching a doctrine that directly attacks the Creation of the world and the history of the Bible. They are attacking the fundamental truth of Creation in the guise of science, to defend our faith in the Bible we must also understand not only scripture but also what science is.

Can you imagine what would happen if some former student went in and tried to distribute literature for a freethinkers/atheist group? This guy is great.
The mountains arose after the flood and the mid-oceanic trenches sank down. As the water quickly ran off it created massive erosion, such as the Grand Canyon, and Canyon Land National park. Just how exactly does runoff cause canyons and large trenches? Besides, where did the water "run-off" to?
Besides, my limited knowledge of geology tells me that the Grand Canyon is not created by as much as by erosion than it is by uplift.
I'll be waiting for his reply on my interbedded conglomerate/shale issue. I won't old my breath.

Some of the best gems (http://www.wasdarwinright.com/Datingmethods.html#young%20globe)
Oh my gawd! I just found the most precious creationist gem of all time.
9 - Soil-water ratio. The earth is still in the partially soaked condition it became at the time of the Flood. This indicates that the Flood occurred only a few thousand years ago.—p. 27.
Excuse me? Where the hell is that coming from?
1 - Topsoil. It has been calculated that 300 to 1,000 years is required to build one inch [2.54 cm] of topsoil. Yet the average depth of topsoil is about eight inches. On this basis, the earth could only be a few thousand years old.—p. 27. Well, my house has about 4 inches of topsoil, so that has to mean my property is only 1200 years old.
2 - Niagara Falls. Erosion of Niagara Falls is about 3.5 feet [106.68 cm] per year. Since the length of the gorge is about 7 miles, the age of the falls would normally be about 5,000 to 10,000 years at the most. However, the Flood would have greatly accelerated that erosion.—p. 27.Alright, notice the 5000 to 10000 range? Whats the deal with the range? If the gorge is 7 miles or 36960 feet long, and it has eroded 3.5 feet a year (knowing that the erosion is nearly zero now, because of flow control), that would lead to an age of 10560 years. He says 10,000 at most. What a nutjob.
6 - Growth of coral. Coral growth rates indicate the earth is quite young. No known coral formation is older than 3,500 years.—p. 29.Are we including the coral that is 1000 feet below the ground surface in Ohio?

Umm, this is idiotic. Obviously, you'd have to consider the greatest topsoil thickness. I have no idea where the thickest topsoil is, but I did a quick web search and found some test hole logs from a county in Kansas where, in some of them, the topsoil was six feet thick. That's 72 inches - already up to @22k-72k years. Then I looked at another page and found one where the soil was 15 feet thick!
And of course, this completely ignores erosion.
As the water quickly ran off it created massive erosion, such as the Grand Canyon, and Canyon Land National park.
And, amazingly, then there was a massive volcanic event that plugged up the Grand Canyon, and the flood waters magically came back and eroded it again!
What idiocy.
Jimmy Higgins mentioned:

Not to mention the Guadalupe Mountains in West Texas, esp. El Capitan, the remains of an ancient, massive coral reef thousands of feet thick.

Wow, 72 inches of topsoil? But I guess the 0 inches of topsoil that can be seen in the Canadian Shield makes up for that. So the Canadian Shield proves the earth is 100 years old! :)

Strangely enough, I did do the calculations of settlement based on soil rebound. Assuming the flood was 4000 years ago, and only 1/4 of the weight of the water was still in the "soil memory" our settlements in soil would be considerably less, I believe by atleast 300%.

Dangerous Identity Essay
By: Joe Baker
In an honest moment most Christians will admit that our American foundations are
being uprooted, and that the Churchs effort to bring back our Christian heritage
is waxing more and more futile.
>Which foundations would those be exactly? The US government is a secular government. It was founded that way, it is intended to be that way. What is being uprooted and eroded is the religious tolerance and freedom of every American to worship, or not, as he/she chooses.<
The most destructive force at work against us
is clearly the public education system. Many battles have been fought at the
school board, state, and Supreme Court levels, with the desire to bring truth to
a lost generation of young people. We are losing more and more skirmishes each
year. And the reason that we are losing has nothing to do with being
outnumbered. I believe we are losing because we have not been strategic or
willing to use some of our most valuable players. I want to offer a solution
that will undermine the current propaganda machine.
>The current religious movement has one of the biggest, most effective propaganda machines there is. It is only because so much of what comes from them is an out and out LIE that the truth manages to maintain it's tenuous hold on the public education system. It's religious organizations that are fighting to become government supported and endorsed that are one of the biggest causes of strife in this country today. And you're right, it has nothing to do with being outnumbered. It is a matter of a large, vocal minority trying to push thier religious views on everyone else.<
Humanist forces in our society have, over the last 100 years, built an invisible
wall around every public school. This wall is designed to keep Christianity and
its values out. For years the Church has engaged in a half-hearted effort to
lay siege from the outside of the walled perimeter by using the court system.
Heaving rocks at the wall for years has hardly made a reasonable impact. I
think it’s time for a new plan, and that plan is to send in what I have been
calling the Trojan Horse.
>Hello, what country did you grow up in? Children ARE allowed to pray in school in any way they want. And more importantly, they are still allowed to attend any church they want. What is NOT allowed is the school supporting religion...ANY religion...in an official capacity. The churche's siege, as you so aptly describe it, is an unconstitutional assoult on the freedoms guaranteed to every citizen of this country by the first amendment!<
What if we could send our troops in under the wall? What if we could motivate
and train our Christian public school students to be world-changers? What if
they were the ones to subvert the dominant paradigm? Who would stop them?
After taking part in this war for some time now I believe that the system
intended to keep truth out is ironically most vulnerable within. Millions of
Christian students enter public high school every day. What if we were to offer
them the responsibility of leading this revolution? This is not just a new idea
of how to bring about change in our country, this is the last card in our hand,
and soon it too will be taken from us. And then we wont have a prayer of
getting our nation back to its old paths.
> So what you're saying is that you want to brainwash young children with your particular brand of religion, regardless of thier or thier parents beliefs? And what old paths are you referring to? The witch hunts? Maybe the complete extinction of the native amercan peoples who are already pushed back to live on reservations? What flavor of god worship do you want to see? Which one of the 30000+ forms (cults, really) of christianity would you like to force on all of these people?<
What has the Church offered students so far? The average church has done a
fairly good job of training students to save sex for marriage, steer clear of
drugs, and bring more friends to church. But churches, for the most part, have
not risen a generation of kids that are willing and ready to engage the culture
and make disciples of Jesus Christ. This is my vision. I want to give them an
invitation into something far more dangerous, far wilder, and far more wonderful
than they have ever imagined. I want to invite them on a journey where they are
forced to fully trust in the Lord to make their path straight. This journey
begins when we become completely available to our Creator. This means that we
too must be available servants ready for orders, or we will have nothing to give
them.
> This is your vision? Then you do not belong in this country. Tell you what, I have read a couple versions of the bible, the book of mormon, most of the baghivad ghita and upanishads, the koran, and several books on eastern mysticism. How about we institute an indoctrination into Hinduism? I have a feeling you would want that wall to be back up again, eh?<
Sounds easy, doesnt it? Until you read the Scriptures and see the heroic
adventures that God invites men on when they simply become available for his
service. There isnt a story in the Bible where God takes men and offers them
financial and physical security at the beginning of their journey. He is not
concerned about our personal reputations. God wants us to need him, to talk
with him, and to trust him no matter what, so what does he do? He chocks our
life full of mystery, danger, and adventure. And that, right there, is the key.
The destiny that we have shown them is no more than just a Christian version of
the worlds pitiful zip-locked Wal-Mart college life. When they see the real
thing in action they too will want to really come alive and live out the radical
life as an Ambassador of Jesus Christ.
> You've got a point there, reading the bible definitely gives one the impression that god doesn't care much about people, unless you are part of one of the original tribes? Are you? Or would you be one of the many innocent children doomed to die because of you god's merciful judgement? <
I know, I know, at this point youre saying, Yes… but how do we motivate these
kids to be world-changers? Well, we offer them a more dangerous role in the
story, of course. We reveal to them individually that according to the Word
they were intimately created for a specific, strategic, cosmic purpose. We tell
them that they are needed, simply BECAUSE THEY ARE! And then we walk with them
as they listen to the heart of God and develop a strategic vision for their high
school. We teach them truth, we train them, and then we set them free. God
will be the one ultimately in charge if we do it this way.
>Right....why don't we simply try to motivate our children to be respectful of others beliefs, recognize that there are outlooks other than theirs that are just as correct, be kind to others and follow the 'golden rule' (which originated long before the old testament), do these not sound like worthy ideals? <
The reason why the movie The Lord Of The Rings made such profits among teens is
because it is a parable of the lives that we are supposed to be living. The
trailer of the film runs these three statements across the screen:
Fate has chosen him.
A fellowship will protect him.
Evil will hunt him.
And this is precisely what they will be invited into, great and noble
undertaking. We are not called to be living a re-run from Home Improvement. You
and I were born into a world at war, and we are going to need every bit of
strength that we can muster. I believe in todays young people; I believe that
we have what it takes to bring down the forces of evil. The God of the Armies
of Israel is our counselor: may He use this generation to violently bring forth
His Kingdom.
>Actually, the reason LOTR was so popular among teens was because all of us old parents who read the books dragged them there to see it. :-) <
--And this, my friend, is the reason why I am spending the next 8 months to
explain my strategic vision for high schoolers in a book that will be titled
Dangerous Identity. I would love your input and your prayers…You can e-mail me

> Well, ok but you asked. I'd concentrate a little less on writing your hate filled book, and a little more on learning to respect the people around you.
