I'm curious if anyone knows anything about this branch of medicine. I know some already: A. T. Stills, the first school in Missouri, even a little about the philosophy. I'm more interested in the current attitudes toward the discipline, and how easily (and how much) it has integrated into mainstream medicine.

I'm well aware that there exists some tension, at least in some circles, between MD's and DO's. What I would like, if anyone is aware of it, is a balanced assesment of the field, be it a book, documentury, article, etc...

If anyone has any information, it would be greatly appriciated.

Thanks,

Case

A quick search on google turned up this little ditty:
The Osteopathic Literature Database. (http://ostmed.hsc.unt.edu/ostmed/)
Of course, Quackwatch (http://www.quackwatch.org/04ConsumerEducation/QA/osteo.html) has something to say about this subject as well.

As to my personal opinion, at this time I offer a heartfelt "no comment." :p
