Justin's First Apology Chapter 57

'For He was crucified on the day before that of Saturn (Saturday); and on the day after that of Saturn, which is the day of the Sun, having appeared to His apostles and disciples, He taught them these things, which we have submitted to you also for your consideration.'

So Jesus was crucified one day before he reappeared to the disciples.

Have you established that he WAS crucified?

Not really: the day before Saturday is Friday, the day after Saturday is Sunday. And it does not say Jesus' reap happened right after the alleged resurrection, in the early morning.
I think Justin was thinking in term of Roman (Gentile) day (as "John" Jn20:1,19). In Jewish day, the appearance to the disciples Sunday evening (according to GLuke & GJohn) would be on Monday.

Steven,

No, he was not. This passage says Jesus was crucified on Friday and rose on Sunday. That's not exactly news...

Yeh, the 'of that' is a little ambiguous as it appears at first reading to be referring to the day Justin has been talking about.
