Hey,

Kind of new here, but could anyone give me some links to a few noted science journals and some in depth ones on abiogenesis which I am sure you all know of. Already read the one off talkorigins btw.

Little about me to get you started:

Currently, at the University of Maryland working toward a B.S. in biochemistry, but might go toward a double biochem/biology. After that I plan to either be go to medical school, PhD in Biochem, pharmacy or go into the industry (lots of choices :) ).

It may sadden you to know that I am a Christian; however, I reject the YEC arguments and skew toward Morton or Ross's style of thinking over the century-ish old debate. I came here to learn and change my ideas by putting them up against some of the more scientific evidence that this community can provide and hopefully that will happen. First of many posts hopefully.

Have a great day.

So are you an OEC or a theistic evolutionist?

Well, as a Biochemist you are probably aware that evolution is not involved in abiogenesis. Evolution does not say how life got here, only what happened to it once it did. Having said that, many people argue for a chemical selection process--I'll let them in the know detail that. :)

But really I just wanted to welcome you to the boards. There are actually quite a few Christians here--and they agree with evolution too. There is no reason to think evolution somehow negates God's existence. Again, glad to see you and welcome!

haven't decided yet. still open to evidence :p

yes, indeed however there isn't an origins discussion forum so this seemed to be the closest match since its not really philosophical or religious or anything like that.

so yeah, anyone want to give me a few abiogenesis links? it would be most appreciated (besides the ones that were give in the "law of abiogenesis" thread or on talkorigins).

Dr.GH can give you a good start here. (http://www.iidb.org/vbb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=59479&highlight=PNAS) Searching Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (http://www.iidb.org/vbb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=59479&highlight=PNAS) for keywords like "early earth" or authors like Stanley Miller will get you enough papers to get you backlogged.
