The bible (1 John) says there were many antichrists around in the first century.

I suppose on that basis there could be many around today...but there is not a person known as the antichrist.

in response to your question and to some of the other replys. Yes, it is true there are many "antichrists" present in the world today and throughout history. By definition an "Antichrist" is anyone against christ. And they do not need to be violently opposed, just someone who doesnot see him as one with God. AS God, if you will. This embodies a bunch of people. But when you are refencing THE Antichrist, there is and will be only ONE. He will arise at the end of the age. Presently? Maybe, I am inclined to believe he is staging his appearence as we speak. His job will be that of World Leader. He will be leading the New World Order (not just a band anymore). He will call Jerusalem his home, the Pope (speculation) will be his side kick. The Bible refers to him as the False Prophet. He will make his grand entrance upon the signing of a 7 year peace agreement between the Palestinians and the Jews. The Dome of the Rock will have been destroyed and the new Temple will be standing in it's place. It will be in full sacrificial swing..just like in the old testament days..only it will be the seat of the One World Religion instead of being reserved only for Jewish worship. I can back up this all scripturally if your interested but It would take a while. That conflicts with theology the way I understand it: Satan is not generally considered as omnipresent. I.e., Satan couldn't personally "indwell" two different people simultaneously, and couldn't exist separately at the same time. You may beleive differently

I must not have made my thoughts clear. You are correct in saying that AC and FP are two distinct people. AC will be leader of NWO, while FP will serve as his advisor and head of NWR(religion). I personally use the term "unholy" trinity loosly, because it is really nothing like the holy trinity of the Bible, outside there being 3 working together for a common cause.
You are also correct in saying that Satan is not omnipresent. I understand that AC will be controlled directly by Satan himself.."indwelled", thus able to perform amazing feats. FP on the other hand, will be under the control of high ranking demonic hosts...otherwise known as "demon possessed". Not quite as powerful as AC.
As far as being "superstitious", I have never concidered myself superstitious...I am not leary of black cats, umbrellas or ladders...but I can see how folks in your camp could view me in that light..and I'm okay with that..I assure you I am rational, of sound mind, college educated and very pensive..which is why I love this web site..It prompts me to think deeply about my convictions. and for that I say thanks

Sounds like something out of that movie starring Sean Connery which was later made a series. The plot featured people who live forever and a character named Duncan McCloud who went around cutting folk's heads off.
