CNN poll (http://www.cnn.com/CNN/Programs/wolf.blitzer.reports/)
CNN: Is the moving of the Ten Commandments monument a victory or defeat for the United States?
Early results running 57% "victory".
Best birthday present I could have hoped for. Moving that stupid rock would have been enough, but this is icing on the cake. :-)

Um, sorry to do this but . . .
There is only 5,000 votes so far, and . . .
What does it mean to call this a "victory for the United States?" The attack on Pearl Harbor was a victory for the Japanese. That does not mean it was a good thing.
It was an event where a federal judge's ruling was forced on a state government. Of course it was a fictory for the federal branch. It won. The state backed down.
One can easily call this a "victory for the U.S." without calling it a good thing.

I hear you. I understand your concern that this is or may be a bad thing for non-religious people in the long run, but I don't share it. A lot of the news coverage (not enough, but a lot) has been bringing up the key points of why church/state separation is important, even using the Taliban as a counterpoint.
In my view, the more discussion about this, the better. And the coverage of Moore and his demonstrators/supporters seems to be generating an impression of them as extremists.
Ideally, we'd all be able to just discuss the issues. Given the state we're in, though, the issue will never come to public consciousness except through sound-bite-rich "crisis" events like this. So, I will continue to be happy and enjoy it.
