Fucking Xians make me late for work! (A rant)

I work in Toronto, and i'm sure many of you know that our government is moving to legalize gay marriages. I'm fine with it, i'm not gay or anything but i believe there's nothing wrong with 2 people loving each other deciding to spend the rest of their lives together. Its one of the more beautiful things in humanity. Now I live in the suburbs, and i usually leave an hour before my shift and i usually get to work 20-30 min early. Today I left at my usual time, a few minutes early. THe ride into town was nothing uneventful. Once i get into downtown it turned into complete choas. My workplace is maybe 4-5 blocks away from where i get off the highway so its usually nothing more than 10 minutes. Today it took me 50 minutes! And i was 10 minutes late for work. Why? 'Cause a horde of mindless, ignorant xian pigs were protesting gay marriage. It wasn't enough that there were 200 of them, oh no, they had to clog up downtown traffic. Causing sever disturbances for me and hundreds of other drivers for no reason other than their own blindness and ignorance! I mean i'm a university student, i have to pick and scrape every penny i earn. I gave them the finger but i would've been more satisfied with pissing, defeacating and spitting on them but since i was in my car and there were so many of them, i couldn't manage!

Fucking Xians!! There's so many of them! Its a shame Hitler hated jews :mad: :mad: :mad:

It is a shame that Hitler hated Jews, but of course hating Christians would not have been any better.

I have to agree with xorbie. Even though the existence of christianity makes me despair for the human race I don't wish massive death on them. Anyway, Hitler wouldn't kill his own. Oh wait, he would.

on another note, 200 of them? Did it make the papers? Was this protest triggered by anything in particuliar or were they bored?

I guess i went overboard with the hitlet thing but i was angry and when you get pissed off you say things out of line. Not that i'm a hitler fan or anything.

If people protest something, thats fine. What i do find disturbing is when they disrupt traffic. What gives them the right to block off two lanes of traffic and completely ignoring traffic signals causing grief for many more people???

As to wether it was triggered by anything I can't think of anything other than the government's decision to go ahead and legalize it. But they're not gonna start talking about in parliment for a few more months. I guess they were bored, they were so many of them so it had to be plannedb efore hand. They had a truck that was blasting "music", i just cranked up my Emperor demo and was lucky enough to ignore it.

Another thing that struck me was that this group called themselves 'aisan christians against the redifinition of marriage' or something and it just struck me how sad that was. I mean, ancient aisans had some of the most fascinating philosophies and philosophers (Confiucus, Sun Tzu for example) and they've now degenerated to this. They were one of the greatest civilizations of human history before they had been polluted by western ideals like capitalism, marxism, christianity, etc. etc.

It wouldn't have had anything to do with the "March for Jesus" that was going along Bloor St. and down Yonge St. this afternoon around 3ish, would it? That was fucking annoying. I barely made it to work on time thanks to that as well.

Not to be a smart-ass or anything, but disrupting people is generally the purpose of protest. You try to shake other people out of their complacency by disrupting whatever you're able to, so that they have to be aware of your message. A protest that doesn't upset someone or gather attention is pointless.

That said, it really does suck to be caught up in the middle of it, especially when they're protesting against something that you're okay with.

There are going to be a lot more of those protests, too, as the law gets closer to reality. Protests and counter-protests. That'll mess up a lot of commutes.

Talking about protests...

The law here (which sucks for separation of relgion and state) did some (long awaited) chages. Being gay is no longer a crime in public. The people never really thought that way, i never heard of anyone to be convicted, but it was in the law and now it is not.

Another thing the goverment wants to do is legalise prostitution. That would be an immense benefit. For once, no more danger of illness (obligation to test yourselves) taxes and a lot more safety for them as well. Let' face it ,no matter how illegal is, it still exists.

Immediately a huge pressure from the church was made to stop passing the law ( it is still not even discussed in the parliament). priests appeard on talk-shows, and the hole capital was covered in posters that said:

Shame shame shame shame shame (the goverment want to legalise prostitution)

And the posters were prited and paid from , what? the goverment taxes! my taxes! my money!

Sure, let them all face 99% risk of getting AIDS and hepatitis, getting no money for what they do as the pimps hold them hostage, and living in misery cause they have no money for old age.

What is their problem? :banghead:

Sooner or later the law WILL pass, and it's their failt it is not in use now.

That was probably it, I work around the College Park area. A funny thing, they went to Queen's Park (our provincial parliment) to protest, but the premier just last week said he was againt the idea!

I totally agree with the rest of the thread!

By the way, I'm a Christian...and you'll never see me marching on one of those demonstrations...I don't REALLY see how in a legal sense gay marriage shouldn't be allowed. I may disagree with homosexuality in a general sense but gays are people too and they should have the same rights as everybody else...

And I'd have been real torqued off if they made ME late for work, I mean, what the hell is the big deal anyway???

I'm not offended by the "it's a shame Hitler hated Jews" comment. It was made for emphasis - the guy is/was pissed. It's an assumption that he meant he wished Hitler had hated xians so he would've killed them instead. :rolleyes:

Doesn't justify anything though. I understand his anger at Xians in that situation, but that's no excuse to wish massive death on them.

Would any of us find it acceptable if someone out of anger said "I wish some nuts would crash a plane into the White House already," even if we thought that anger was justified?
