Let me start by saying that this is in no way an attempt to validify Jesus Christ as being what Christianity says he is. I simply want to impose counterarguements for all the arguements Daniel made in his article. I mean lets face it, no one's going to be able to prove for certain that Christianity is false, and even if someone could, Daniel here didn't come close to doing it.
First off, Daniel argues that Jesus was a liar because he went around telling everyone he was a human when he was actually God. While he very well could've been a liar about any number of things, this I don't think is one of them. Yes, while he did claim to be human, he also equaly claimed to be God. Daniel says, "No matter how hard Jesus worked at being an ordinary person, he would still be God because he could in the blink of an eye change everything." In this statement, Daniel assumes that if Jesus were in fact God, that he would just change everything in the blink of an eye. Ok well, following this same line of thought, God is God and apparently he hasn't just changed everything in the blink of an eye, so why would Jesus? Obviously, if there is a God, and i don't think there is, he would change things if he wanted them changed.
Next, Daniel claims that Jesus was a sadomasochist, this is also where Daniel's article looses all hope. According to the belief, Jesus' whole purpose for coming in the first place was so that he would one day die on the cross for humanity's sin. Pretty retarded concept in itself if you ask me, but that's beside the point. If Jesus thinks his whole purpose for existing is to go through this certain event, he's probly going to see to it that it happens, and you've got to have alternative motives to assume that he is souly seeking pleasure out of it.
And finally, Daniel has the audacity to suggest that Jesus was not an example of higher morality, but actually an example of lunacy and mental illness. Honestly, how many lunatics suffering from mental illness can found a religion that 1/3 of the world believes in and that has lasted for 2000 years. If this Jesus was an actual person who existed, and chances are he was, even if you don't believe that he was the Son of God you must admit that he was a brilliant teacher with a one of a kind mind. Attempting to deface someone simply because you disagree with them or don't buy into what they're about is a bad habit to get into. You don't have to agree with everything he said, or anything he said for that matter, but you have to give the guy at least a little credit.
