Having remained at 23 deconverted for more than 6 months, I got news of my next one yesterday. My wife, who has been a christian as long as I have known her, told me on the way to our inlaws that she was losing her faith. She wasn't even stressed out about it, just letting me know. I asked her why, and she said that just being around me for the last 6 years has been giving her doubts, and she realized in church the other day that it just seemed ridiculous....24 coming up! Give us a cheer, and a pat for my soon to be rational wife.

I only have a couple (brothers) so far. Working on more. Mustn't rush it. Let their own brains do the work.:D

I try not to be pushy about it....I give it time, play nice, and don't appear activist. First move is usually a sad look of sympathy for the poor deluded soul. Then when they inevitably want to convert me, I work out each point with them calmly, and politely. It usually takes about 20 or 30 encounters before it sets in, but questioning begins after 5 or so. I owe most of them to the fact that churches rarely go into the nasty bits of the bible, and it surprises the hell out of most parishoners when they find out what's been neglected. The argument from outrage is SO effective.;)

As someone pointed out, one person deconverted every 10 years would provide us with a growth rate of 10% per year... a pretty solid rate.
