Jason Gastrich and I have agreed to the following terms for a debate proposal:

(a) Topic: Resolved, the post-resurrection accounts, in all of the gospels, are harmonious and inerrant.

(b) Participants: Dr. Jason Gastrich arguing for the affirmative, Sean McHugh arguing for the negative.

(c) The debate is to concern itself with discussing whether the gospel accounts of the post-resurrection period are in harmony or whether there are contradictions between them.

(d) The debate will last six rounds.

(e) Statements will be made in turns, starting with Jason.

(f) The maximum length of each statement will be 5,000 words. Word counts will include section headers, footnotes and references.

(g) No more than seven days shall pass between statements.

(h) Any quote from outside sources will be permitted so long as copyright is not breached.

(i) The debate will start on January 5th, 2004.

(j) The debate will use the standard format, with no new arguments in the closing statements.

Hi Sean,

Thank you for your request to debate. I'll just confirm this with Jason Gastrich. If everything's good then I will set up the debate thread at the requested time.

Hi Sean and Jason,

These are the terms that we've been discussing. However, I'd like to begin the debate in the week of January 5; not on January 5. Mondays are extremely hectic for me and that Monday will be even more hectic than usual. I'm happy to make my initial post before the end of that week, though.

Sincerely,
Jason

Apologies for that error. I am quite happy with the commencement being in the week of January the 5th.

Thanks IIDB for being willing to host this debate.

Sounds good, Sean.

I thought you were in New Zealand? Your profile says Australia.

Thanks IIDB.

Hi Jason,

I don't know how you got that. Here was my reply when you previously asked me:

Okay, sounds good guys. I or Dave will set up the debate thread in FDD on January 5th and will expect the Jason Gastrich's opening statement within a week after that date. This thread will now be closed.
