Hi all,

Do you ever get the overwhelming urge to either:

A) place a few bibles in the christian fiction section of your local bookstore?

or

B) Replace the "Bibles" sign with "Christian Fiction" sign at same said bookstore?

or is it just me that gets that urge?

-cheers

Not until you mentioned it, no. But it's a neat idea.

Not really, although I have been known to take the creationist works out of the science section and place them in "Christian Fiction." ;)

Went shopping for a xmas present for my little cousin (4year old demon child), thought I'd get her a nice little story book. And to my horror found the "My First Bible" or some such nonsense

Often had the urge to run through the Christian section with a sheet of those "warning" stickers you see in atheist merchandise catalogues--the ones that go something like: "This book contains material inappropriate for children," or some such. Just a sticker here and a sticker there.

Vandalism, I know, but it's fun to think about.

Those radioactive looking Mr. Yuck (I think that is his name...) stickers would be fun to put on bibles and other Christian works...

Kewl! Did it have the story about God ordering Joshua to wipe out every living Canaanite man, woman, child, and animal, because the Canaanites had the temerity to be inhabiting the land the Israelites wanted to live in? Or the story of the man who was stoned to death for gathering firewood on the Sabbath? Those are two of my favorite Biblical stories for children.

Not that I could see, but it had really cute pictures on the front:

You no the ones, smiling happy looking cartoon people and sheep with the sun shining (and I think a rainbow) pure tripe

You can't tell on most of them because it is cut out, there isn't enough room on the cover, but the people are smiling because they are staring at some babies that were freshly dashed upon some rocks.

Well, I've long thought that if there's ever a book burning around that it would be fun to show up with a bible.

considering the mindset that goes along with book burnings.. that would probably get you shot or lynched.

I had a fight with the people in one bookstore when I found a creationist book that not only was in the science section but was the only biology book (apart from nature guides) in the whole shop. Of course there were two or three shelves of Jesus-loves-you types of Christian books.

I've had a similar urge. A few miles from my home some Baptist church has a billboard that just says "Repent." I want to use spray paint to change it to "Creationists, Repent"

I don't know, I'd prefer to move the christian fiction section into the fantasy section. it would make much more sense that way.

A few years back I was looking for a copy of the Book of Mormon. Something to do with a college class, but I don't remember what exactly. I found one at B&N, but decided not to buy it, tossed it on a shelf when I finally found the guy I rode over with, and started to walk out. He looked back at the book, up at the sign above it, and then back at me. "Fantasy/Science Fiction" We laughed.

Now I'm tempted to go do this intentionally. :D
