Well to start out with how about the bagavad gita?
The story of how Arjuna fought is version of the holy war
under the guidance of Hari Krishna?

Here it seems the hindus had their version of a jihad before
the muslims did.

cybergeek, your condemnation of a book obviously without being familiar either with its content or its context is most unbecoming. They were not engaged in a "holy war" against infidels. It was a dynastic struggle between two groups of princes with claims on the same throne.

Santosh I'm confused, how is it you call yourself a hindu, and yet do not know what it is they are about? what does ABCD stand for?

Shivalinga gives a number of his links in this thread: Hare Krishna
Be warned: many consider his group to be a fringe hindu group. Ask him more about it if you are interested in anything you see. He is always happy to elaborate.

Have you read the Rg Veda, the Upanishads, or the Bhagavad Gita?

Well, the thing is my parents didnt put me down and make me learn everything about our culture. Do to various working reason, but I do know epics like Ramayan and Mahabharat. But I havent actually read any religous documents pertaining to my religon. But I know that Hare Krishna is more or less a fringe group that I am not interested in.

The Hindu books that are easy to read are:

1) Ramayana
2) Mahabharata
3) Bhagavad Gita

Are there links that you can give me to read the Badhvad Gita, or can I find it at a library.

the bhagavad gita can easily be found online, in many versions. the other two, you are recommended to buy or borrow a translation. the ones I liked when I was growing up were by C. Rajagopalachari. There is even a modern novel adaptation called "the prince of ayodhya" and an english stage adaptation of mahabharata by peter brooks.
