If it is a sin to work on the sabbath, why do priests do most of their work on that day?
Almost all Christian churches (whether Catholic, Protestant, Baptist or whatever) hold their services on the sabbath thereby making priests, pastors, vicars, altar boys, organists, etc. (delete as applicable for the individual church) work.
Surely church services should be held on other days and the sabbath should be spent at home in quiet reflection and rest.
What is the reason for holding services on the sabbath - and does anyone know of any denominations that hold them another day instead?
