Hi just wanted to bring to light a heartening poll from Norway. The poll is made for the conservative newspaper "Aftenposten"(The Evening Post) by Opinion. From the article: (http://www.aftenposten.no/nyheter/iriks/article767903.ece) "49% don't see themselves as christian, while 47% see themselves as christian." We may be a theocracy but us non-christians are finally in majority! :D
Happy Day!!

I clicked on the link to have a look-see but, alas, I don't speak the language. So I'll take your word for it!

From the little that I've heard this doesn't surprise me. The Nordic countries seem to be quite secular. However, I was surprised to read your comment that "we may be a theocracy...". Is that really true, and how exactly?

Regardless, Happy Day indeed. You're not in the minority anymore. Cheers.

The Evangelical-Lutheran religion shall remain the official religion of the State. The inhabitants professing it are bound to bring up their children in the same.

from Norway's Constitution (http://odin.dep.no/odin/engelsk/norway/system/032005-990424/)

It's sort of a joke. The Christian People's Party has the PM in a coalition with the Right (the conservative party) and the Left (Liberal party) and the PM's a minister, so we joke that the only two countries ruled by a priest is us and Iran. The CPP is utterly marginal and so is the Left so it's really a conservative cabinet.
