As with most mainstream religions, the Christian religion is a rigid belief system, or worldview, that covers everything from the creation of the universe to moral codes that purport to tell everyone how to conduct their lives. It is based solely on a single set of scriptures of unknown origins and dubious authorship dating back some 2000 years. These scriptures lack any kind of history corroboration, and must be taken on faith alone. The entire theology is strictly a mental construct, with no tangible manifestations in the real world. In a word, it exists nowhere but in the mind, yet countless millions have been slaughtered in its defence and resisting it. And the slaughter, pain, suffering, hatred, and arrogance have persisted to this day, with little hope in sight: a determined priesthood sees to this. It has become the most profitable enterprise on earth, bringing wealth and power to thousands, while fleecing and enslaving billions. It is good business, and serves to prove that the big lie is easier to promote than the noble truth.
Further, it makes flamming hypcrites of its adherents, as only a tiny fraction live up to its rules, and it was the alleged Christ who hated the hypocrites most of all.

Hi Art,

Welcome to the II Formal Debates.

Seeing that you're new here, I assume that you wish to propose a challenge for a formal debate? If not, it might be best to take move to General Religious Discussions (http://www.iidb.org/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=54).

If you wish to propose a formal debate, what parameters did you have in mind?
