I was reading my local paper, Newsday (on Long Island) and in one of the letters to the editor someone mentioned that Pat Tillman was an atheist and that how his brother mentioned it during his funeral. It was a positive letter about how atheists can be 'heros' and as far as I"m concerned I want more people to know about this, if it's true.

It was discussed in great detail in an other thread. The quote from his brother is not really conclusive, but it leads one to believe that Pat Tillman was not a traditional heaven-believing theist.
Here's the other thread:

Are you trying to make Pat Tillman to be a martyr?
Didn't you get the memo?
"Pat isn't with God. He's f -- ing dead. He wasn't
religious. So thank you for your thoughts, but he's f -- ing dead.

But thats proof that all aetheists are not miserly, cowardly and greedy people.
I mean, an aetheist turn down a large sum of money and willingly put his life on the line for principles? But only theists are allowed to be selfless! :banghead:

Wrong. They're only nice to people so they can get into heaven. :D
