View Full Version : George Bush's policy: Is it representative of Christ's teachings.

As the RNC sickened me to no end and my current discussion with fellow christians has shown me that now more than even 2000 christians feel this strong bond with Bush as a whole I would like to examine why this is.
I don't think that Bush's policy and actions match the teachings of his self professed favorite philosopher. I don't know if IIDB has an interest in two theists debating Bush but I certainly am sick of this blanket assumption that Bush is somehow a great christian president. I think that he has done nothing to prove that or to earn the vote of christians.
So if any christian would like to defend Bush's position as a christian leader I would love to hear your reasoning.

I probably should not post this here, but I have to agree with you 100%. No matter how I try, I cannot reconcile the teachings of Christ with the words and actions of Bush. Speaking about Christ as his Idol, and then acting in ways which are completely contrary to Christ's message, suggests that either Bush is deeply confused about Christ and his message, or he is simply not being 100% truthful.
I would love to see this debate.
In Peace, Mr Average.

To post a pic, you'll need to put it up on a website and link to it using the image tags. But if you do that, I'd recommend taking it to the Political Discussions or Freethought Humour forum.

I think you'd be more likely to find an atheist who would be willing to "defend" Bush's position as justified by the bible ("I come not to bring peace, but a sword..."). I'd enjoy watching that debate myself.
